Resident Evil Requiem Confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2 with February 2026 Launch

Resident Evil Requiem adds Switch 2 version

Capcom has officially confirmed that Resident Evil Requiem will arrive on Nintendo’s next-generation hardware, widely referred to as the Switch 2, on February 27, 2026. The survival-horror entry will launch on the same day for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, making the Switch 2 version a true day-one release. This confirmation underscores Capcom’s confidence in Nintendo’s successor system and signals stronger third-party support for the platform’s debut lineup.

Alongside Requiem, Capcom also revealed that native Switch 2 versions of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard (Gold Edition) and Resident Evil Village (Gold Edition) will launch on the same date. These titles, previously offered only as cloud versions on the original Switch, will now run natively on Nintendo’s new hardware—another sign that Capcom is betting heavily on Switch 2’s capabilities.

Capcom has not shared detailed technical specifications for the Switch 2 version of Requiem. While fans can reasonably expect RE Engine optimizations for both docked and handheld modes, including performance that aligns with other platforms, exact resolutions, frame rates, and feature sets have not been confirmed. Speculative features such as specific presets, gyro aiming, or touch controls remain unverified and should be treated as possibilities rather than guarantees.

The decision to include Switch 2 in the day-one lineup suggests that Capcom aims for content parity across platforms and intends to bring the full Resident Evil experience to Nintendo’s hybrid audience. The move also reflects Capcom’s broader strategy of strengthening its flagship franchise’s presence on every major system.
Stay tuned to Capcom’s official channels for future updates on technical targets, storage requirements, pricing, and any platform-specific features as the February 2026 launch approaches.
